Backyard Birds: Mr Allen's Hummingbird

Of all the hummingbirds that visit our feeder, Mr. Allen's Hummingbird is the most feisty -- chasing off birds of much bigger size so that he and his mate may dine in peace. He doesn't look like much until the sun lights up his gorget... then his throat flashes like a brilliant fiery topaz. This collage painting was made with hand-painted ephemera embellished with original stencils and hand-cut stamps as well. Some incorporated papers include local maps, sheet music, SDSU textbook pages, and shopping lists. Size: 8 x 10 Wired and ready to hang.
